Using the site as a guest or registered user
You can use the website to find and order publications without any need to
register or sign in, ie as a guest user. However, if you think you might want
to order other HSE publications in the future there may be an advantage for
you to register as a user.
Registered users who sign into the website with their user name and
password:
- don't need to fill out their address details
again if they provided these in an earlier order;
- can view details of previous orders they've
made through the website.
Registering
To register as a user, you click on the New User link in the left-hand
column of the home page. This takes you to a page where you can fill in a
user name and password. The password should be 7 to 14 characters long and is
case sensitive.
Please note that if you forget your user name and/or password,
it is not possible to retrieve them. You would need to register again as a new
user.
After clicking on the Submit button, the home page is displayed but this
time with your user name at the top of the left-hand column. When you next
place an order, you still have to feed in your address details, but the next
time you order, these will be displayed for you.
Your Profile
Once registered as a user with the website, you can change your password at
any time and register your contact details should you wish to receive any
updates in the future. These details can be accessed by clicking on the Your
Profile link in the left-hand column of the page.
Previous orders
Whenever you sign in as a registered user and place an order, the website
will record the order. Should you want to check back on a previous order, you
can click on the Previous Orders link in the left-hand column of the page. You
will then see your most recent orders on screen. If you have placed a large
number of orders in the past, you can use the search facility on the page to
locate specific ones.
