Disclaimer
Every effort is made to ensure that the information provided in the HSE
Books printed catalogues and on the HSE Books commercial website is accurate
but no legal responsibility is accepted for any errors or omissions. The price
and/or availability of any products are subject to change without prior
notice.
Prices for all products, but especially 'older' titles, are subject to
ongoing review when reprint action is being considered.
Every effort will be made to deliver orders on mainland Great Britain within
10 working days (Saturdays and Sundays excluded) from the dates on which orders
are processed. HSE Books will not be responsible if, for example, stock
shortages or delays involving HSE Books commercial carriers extend this period
beyond 10 working days.
HSE Books cannot be responsible if the times or dates given in good faith
for the delivery of goods by third parties are not met. This is particularly
the case with premium delivery services where delivery is required within the
10 working day period.
Ownership
All priced products leaving the HSE Books warehouse remain the property of
HSE Books until the goods are paid for.
Payment
Credit cards and credit accounts will not be debited until the goods ordered
have left the HSE Books warehouse.
Quality
All products leaving the HSE Books warehouse should be free from defect.
Customers are responsible for inspecting goods received as soon as it is
reasonably practical. Complaints about the quality of products which only
become apparent after delivery must be reported to HSE Books within 10 days of
the date recorded on the delivery note.
Customers must refuse delivery of packages and parcels which are delivered
in a damaged condition.
Shortages
Complaints concerning the number of copies received must be made to HSE
Books within 10 days of the date recorded on the delivery note.
Supply of free publications
HSE Books will process, without charge, an order for a single copy of a free
publication for delivery to an address within Great Britain and Northern
Ireland subject to a maximum of 25 different titles. Orders for more than 25
assorted titles will be subject to a handling charge which will increase with
the number of titles ordered.
HSE Books will process orders for up to 25 copies of any free publication
which is not sold in priced packs. HSE Books reserves the right, without prior
notice, to reduce the quantity of free publications supplied or to request
payment.
Returns
Under the Distance Selling Regulations, customers have the right to cancel
the contract for the purchase of any HSE Books items within 7 working days of
the expected delivery date. The expected delivery date will be 10 working days
(Saturday and Sunday excluded) from the date in the 'Date Processed' field on
the relevant delivery note. These Regulations do not apply to the purchase
of video, DVD or software products where the item purchased has been
unsealed.
Customers wishing to cancel a purchase under the Distance Selling
Regulations should clearly identify the item which is being returned on the
delivery note which accompanies items despatched from the HSE Books warehouse
and endorse the document 'Contract to purchase cancelled under DS Regulations'.
Items to be returned should be packaged securely and returned to the HSE Books
Returns Department, PO Box 1999, Sudbury, Suffolk CO10 2WA along with annotated
delivery note within 3 working days of the expected delivery date. Customers
should note that they are responsible for all carriage charges involved in the
return of items under this legislation. It is recommended that a recorded
delivery service is used for this purpose. HSE Books will not be responsible
for returned items which are lost in transit and refunds will not be made if
delivery to the Returns Department cannot be established.
Customers should note that in the case of a dispute GB legislation will
prevail.
Cancellation of 'outstanding' orders
HSE Books reserve the right to cancel without prior notice, any orders for
free publications which have been 'temporarily unavailable' for at least 3
months.
Complaints
Complaints will always be investigated. In the first instance, contact HSE
Books. Always quote the HSE Books order reference (which is printed on the
delivery note) if there is a problem with a specific transaction. Customer
services staff at HSE Books will always give their names. Ask to speak with
