Abstract Following work conducted with regard to ocular exposure limits for visible and infrared radiation from incoherent sources, exposure limits for blue light, whole spectrum retinal thermal damage and cataractogenesis are compared with existing biological data and eye damage models and the results presented. This report and the work it describes were funded by HSE. Its contents, including any opinions and/or conclusions expressed, are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect HSE policy.
