| Abstract |
Provides guidance to people working in forestry to help them understand the requirements of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER). These requirements came into force on 5 December 1998. LOLER is aimed at ensuring that all lifting operations are properly planned, that lifting equipment is used in a safe manner and that where necessary lifting equipment is thoroughly examined at suitable intervals by a competent person.
