Provides guidance to employers on the application of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1994 (COSHH) to the woodworking industry. Contents: What are the Regulations about? What is a substance hazardous to health? Does COSHH apply to the woodworking industry? How can employees be exposed to these substances? What types of substances can be inhaled? What could be ingested? What could pass through the skin? What about skin contact? Some people can be allergic or sensitised to certain substances. Does this have to be taken into account? What is the first thing that should be done to comply with COSHH? How do I go about making an assessment? How am I expected to know what is hazardous? What should be done about the risks identified?
