Abstract Provides the results of a study analysing questionnaire data from 968 users of display screen equipment (DES). The results enabled the authors to prioritise the symptoms of discomfort experienced by users of DSE. The findings show that users are more likely to complain of general fatigue and discomfort in the neck and shoulder than they are to complain of visual and 'RSI'- type symptoms. The findings provide an opportunity to focus health and safety guidance to users of DSE and to employers. Its contents, including any opinions and/or conclusions expressed, are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect HSE policy.
Keywords Display screen equipment; DSE; Study procedures; Analysis; Questionnaire; Discussion; Provision of eye tests; Discomfort; VDU, Visual Display Unit.
