| Abstract |
HSE has identified a need to produce case study material which business leaders can identify themselves with and which persuade them of the benefits that effective leadership in occupational health and safety can bring to health and safety as well as to the business overall. This research has produced eight (8) case studies that highlight Boards of Directors who provide leadership and direction in occupational health and safety, showing what they do and what the benefits are to their organisations. This series of case studies will add to the previously completed case studies and the other initiatives from the HSC/E aimed at promoting greater corporate responsibility and accountability for health and safety. This report and the work it describes were funded by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Its contents, including any opinions and/or conclusions expressed, are those of the author alone and do not necessarily reflect HSE policy.
