Abstract This publication details the results of a survey describing the retention of knowledge of first-aiders and discusses the results which suggest that first-aiders retain only a percentage of what is learnt on first aid courses. The results also indicate that few first-aiders update and refresh their memories by looking at the first aid manual between refresher courses. Contents: Background to the survey; Methodology; Results; Discussion; Conclusions and Recommendations.
Keywords Questionnaire; First aid
