This information sheet outlines the risks to workers in the cast stone industry from hand-arm vibration syndrome. It is aimed at employers, managers, supervisors, employees, and their representatives. The information sheet has been produced to help the Health and Safety Commission (HSC) priority topic of hand-arm vibration and aims to help the industry by addressing the following questions: What is hand-arm vibration syndrome? What are the symptoms? How can I comply with the law? How do I know if there is a risk? How do I control the risk? What about health surveillance? It contains notes on good practice which are not compulsory but which you may find helpful in considering what you need to do. |
