| Abstract |
Provides guidance to employers, the self-employed and contractors in the agricultural industries to help them understand the requirements of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER). These requirements came into force on 5 December 1998 for both new and existing equipment. LOLER is aimed at ensuring that all lifting operations are properly planned, that lifting equipment is used in a safe manner and that where necessary lifting equipment is thoroughly examined at suitable intervals by a competent person.
