| Abstract |
This information sheet was produced by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in consultation with the Plastics Processors Health and Safety Liaison Committee. The sheet forms part of a series which gives advice on how to actively manage machinery safety to prevent accidents in the plastics processing industry. It suggests systems of work which will help compliance with those parts of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 which relate to the maintenance and inspection of machinery safeguards. It describes the causes of accidents at the winding zones of winding machines, and details safeguarding standards and safety checklists.
